The New Tristano is an album by jazz pianist Lennie Tristano. It was recorded in 1961 [3] and was released by Atlantic Records in February 1962. [4] Background. Lennie Tristano seldom recorded; this was his first album for Atlantic Records since his eponymous album was released in 1956. [5] .

Leonard Joseph "Lennie" Tristano (Chicago, 19 de marzo de 1919 - Nueva York, 18 de noviembre de 1978) fue un pianista estadounidense, compositor, arreglista y profesor de improvisación de jazz. Tristano estudió la licenciatura y maestría en música en Chicago antes de mudarse a la ciudad de Nueva York en 1946.
