It gave me a lot of information about McCarey, whose movies I’ve long admired (in particular, Ruggles of Red Gap, The Awful Truth, and My Favorite Wife). It prompted me to finally view his Make Way for Tomorrow, which I was aware of as the inspiration for Ozu Yasujiro’s famous Tokyo Story.
