Leon Edward Panetta (nacido el 28 de junio de 1938) es un político demócrata e intelectual estadounidense de origen italiano. Desde 2009 fue director de la CIA y en julio de 2011 asumió el cargo de Secretario de Defensa tras su nombramiento por Barack Obama. Abandonó el Departamento de Defensa en febrero de 2013.

Leon Panetta. Leon Panetta co-founded the Panetta Institute for Public Policy with his wife Sylvia in 1997 upon completion of his service as White House chief of staff in the Bill Clinton administration. He co-directed it with her until 2009, when he left to serve as CIA director and then secretary of defense under President Obama.
