Togo (oficialmente la República Togolesa, en francés: République togolaise) [10] es un país de África occidental. Limita con Ghana al oeste, Benín al este y Burkina Faso al norte. Togo, officially the Togolese Republic, is a country in West Africa. It is bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north. It is one of the least developed countries and extends south to the Gulf of Guinea, where its capital, Lomé, is located.

The history of Togo can be traced to archaeological finds which indicate that ancient local tribes were able to produce pottery and process tin. During the period from the 11th century to the 16th century, the Ewé , the Mina , the Gun , and various other tribes entered the region.
