Thomas married Lois Irene Kimsey on Oct. 2, 1895 in Steuben County, Indiana. 27th Governor of Indiana. He ran for political office once and lost. He did not run again for twenty years until he was asked to run for Governor in 1908. As governor, Thomas Marshall opposed capital punishment, Prohibition and voting rights for women.
