20 de ene. de 2022 · Trim Castle is the biggest Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland. It was built shortly after the arrival of the Anglo-Normans in 1172 by Hugh de Lacy, over the course of 30 years. But the newly built structure was seen as a threat by Ruaidrí Ua Conchobair (Ireland’s High King), and it was attacked by his forces in 1173, while the castle was under the command of a baron named Hugh Tyrell.

The castle grounds are free to visit on weekends, and midweek tours of the castle grounds (November to February) cost €2 per person. Trim Town Centre offers to pay and display parking from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday to Saturday at an hourly rate of €1.00, with a special offer for all-day parking at €3.00 available in Emmet Street Car Park, just a 3-minute walk from Trim Castle Entrance..
Trim Castle. Trim Castle ( irisch Caisleán Bhaile Átha Troim) in Trim (Grafschaft Meath, Irland) ist ein normannisches Kastell aus dem 12. Jahrhundert.
