Lucy Hay, Countess of Carlisle (née Percy; 1599 – 5 November 1660) was an English courtier known for her beauty and wit. She was involved in many political intrigues during the English Civil War . Life. She was born Lady Lucy Percy, the second daughter of Henry, Earl of Northumberland (the famous "Wizard Earl") and his wife Lady Dorothy Devereux.
His second wife, Lucy Hay, Countess of Carlisle, was involved in many conspiracies, or allegations thereof, during the English Civil War. [9] The first earl was succeeded by James, his only surviving son by his first wife.

In 1639 he inherited the Carlisle Islands, later called Barbados. Between 1642 and 1646 he was a Royalist Colonel of a Regiment of Horse. He lived mainly in Barbados but returned in 1652.
