28 de dic. de 2020 · ROSSETTI, LUCY MADOX (1843–1894), painter, was the only daughter of Ford Madox Brown by his first marriage, and half-sister of Oliver Madox Brown [q. v.] Her mother's maiden name was Bromley. Lucy was born at Paris, 19 July 1843; her parents brought her to England in 1844, and, after her mother's death in 1846, her father definitely established himself in England.

19 de jul. de 2021 · Lucy Madox Brown was born in Paris on July 19,1843, and was the daughter of Ford Madox Brown (learn more about him here) by his first wife Elizabeth Bromley (1819–1846). Her mother died just three years later in 1846, and she was sent to live with her aunt Helen Bromley in Gravesend, Kent. In 1856 she went to live with the Rossetti household ...
Lucy Madox Brown began exhibiting at the Dudley Gallery in 1868 and showed most of her work there, only exhibiting one picture at the Royal Academy, The Duet in 1870. It is recorded that Dante Gabriel Rossetti thought Romeo and Juliet was 'a really perfect picture'. It was purchased by Mr Wilson of Ambleside for £105.
