Lucy Madox Brown Rossetti (19 July 1843 – 12 April 1894) was a British artist, author, and model associated with the Pre-Raphaelites. She was married to the writer and art critic William Michael Rossetti . Early life. Madox Brown was born in Paris in 1843, the daughter of Ford Madox Brown and Elizabeth Bromley (1819–1846).

19 de nov. de 2020 · Lucy Madox Brown Rossetti (1843–1894) was the oldest surviving daughter of Ford Madox Brown. She acted as her father’s studio and general assistant until he guided her training when she was 25. She quickly became a fine figurative painter in watercolours, exhibiting at the Royal Academy.

Lucy Madox Brown began exhibiting at the Dudley Gallery in 1868 and showed most of her work there, only exhibiting one picture at the Royal Academy, The Duet in 1870. It is recorded that Dante Gabriel Rossetti thought Romeo and Juliet was 'a really perfect picture'.
