Christian V (15 April 1646 – 25 August 1699) was King of Denmark and Norway from 1670 until his death in 1699. Well-regarded by the common people, he was the first king anointed at Frederiksborg Castle chapel as absolute monarch since the decree that institutionalized the supremacy of the king in Denmark-Norway.

Cristián V (Flensburgo, 15 de abril de 1646-Copenhague, 25 de agosto de 1699) fue rey de Dinamarca y Noruega de 1670 a 1699. Hijo de Federico III de Dinamarca y Sofía Amalia de Brunswick-Lüneburg. Fue el segundo monarca absoluto de Dinamarca y Noruega, un déspota con una exagerada opinión de su dignidad real y sus prerrogativas.
Christian V king who consolidated absolutism in Denmark–Norway. Christian was the son of Frederick III, whom he succeeded in 1670. Popular with the common people, he fortified the absolutist system against the aristocracy by accelerating his father’s practice of allowing Holstein nobles and Danish.

Christian V was the King of Denmark-Norway from 1670; son of Frederik III and Sophie Amalie of Brunswick-Lüneburg. He was married to Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel in 1667. He was the father of Frederik IV. Christian V was badly equipped educationally for his Royal duties.
