Weißenfels es una ciudad de Alemania, situada en el estado federado de Sajonia-Anhalt a orillas del río Saale, cerca de Halle y Leipzig. Saxe-Weissenfels ( German: Sachsen-Weißenfels) was a duchy of the Holy Roman Empire from 1656/7 until 1746 with its residence at Weißenfels. Das Weißenfelser Schloss Neu-Augustusburg in Sachsen-Anhalt war von 1680 bis 1746 Residenz der Herzöge von Sachsen-Weißenfels, einer Sekundogenitur der kursächsischen Wettiner. Der gut erhaltene frühe Barockbau mit seiner bedeutenden Schlosskirche St. Trinitatis gilt als national wertvolles Kulturdenkmal. [1]
