El Partido Socialista Obrero Español ( PSOE) es un partido político español fundado el año 1879 de ideología socialdemócrata y de centroizquierda. Desde el 18 de junio de 2017 está dirigido por el secretario general Pedro Sánchez, proclamado durante la celebración del XXXIX Congreso del partido.

Iglesias was also the founder in 1888 of the party’s affiliated trade union confederation, the General Union.
