Helena Alypia (Greek: Ελένη Αλυπία, Helénē Alypía; 960s? – c. 989 ?) was a Byzantine empress consort as the wife of Byzantine Emperor Constantine VIII .

Helena (en griego: Ελένη) fue emperatriz bizantina consorte como esposa de Constantino VIII . Se tienen pocos datos biográficas sobre su figura, ya que sólo es mencionada brevemente en la Cronografía de Miguel Psellos, seguida en las obras de Juan Escilitzes y Juan Zonaras. 1 Sobre ella, Psellos escribía:

Aparte de esta referencia en Psellos, se desconoce por lo demás a su padre Alypius (Αλυπίος). El matrimonio probablemente tuvo lugar ca. 976, y Helena murió en algún momento desconocido, aparentemente mucho antes de que su esposo se convirtiera en el único emperador en 1025.

Very little is known about her, as she is only briefly mentioned in the Chronographia of Michael Psellos, followed in the works of John Skylitzes and the Zonaras.
Helena Alypia, the daughter of Alypius or Alypios and member of a noble family, married Constantine, later Constantine VIII, Emperor of Byzantium, while he was still a young man.
