She was a countess consort of Rouen and Normandy by her first marriage, and a countess consort of Blois and Chartres by her second. She was a daughter of Herbert II of Vermandois, and Adele, daughter of Robert I of France.

    She was born before 925 Her birth year is unknown, estimate 922 based on brother Hugh's birth 920. She was the daughter of Heribert II, Comte de Vermandois and Adela

    She first married, about 940, William I, or Guillaume I, Duke of Normandy also known as William Longsword Guillaume I, duke of Normandy, died in 943, duke of Normandy. She first married William Longspee, Count of Normandy. No issue.

    Between 943 and 945 she secondly married Tetbaldus (Theobald, or Thibaut II "le tricheur"), Count of Blois and Chartres. or Theobald I of Blois.Thibaut I "le Tricheur", died 16 January 975 as count of Blois and Chartres and viscount of Tours.

    Liégard was still living on 5 February 978, when she appears in a charter of Saint-Pére de Chartres in which she donated property to "Sancti Petri Carnotensis ecclesiam"

  3. About 943–44, he married Luitgarde of Vermandois, widow of William I of Normandy. Her dower around Evreux strengthens Theobald's grip around Normandy. Luitgarde was the daughter of Herbert II, Count of Vermandois and the great-daughter of King Robert I of France.
