Margaret Elisabeth Innes-Ker, Duchess of Roxburghe ( née McConnel; 23 December 1918 – 2 June 1983), later Hambro, was a Scottish activist and noblewoman. Early life and background. He was born on 5 September 1839 at Floors, to James Henry Robert Innes-Ker, 6th Duke of Roxburghe and Susanna Dalbiac, Duchess of Roxburghe, only child of Sir Charles Dalbiac. His mother was one of Queen Victoria’s staff until she died in 1895.
The Dukedom of Roxburghe was created in 1707 when John Ker, 5th Earl of Roxburghe, and a Secretary of State for Scotland from 1704, was installed as a Knight of the Garter and as Baron Ker of Cessford and Caverton, Viscount Broxmouth, Earl of Kelso, Marquess of Bowmont and Cessford, and Duke of Roxburghe.
