  6. Biography. John de la Pole was the son of John de la Pole, 2nd Duke of Suffolk and Elizabeth of York, Duchess of Suffolk. His uncle, King Edward IV of England, made him Earl of Lincoln in 1467, and he became a firm supporter of his uncle Richard III of England after the death of Edward IV.
