That’s because Bava is one of the most influential filmmakers the genre’s ever widened its eyes to – leaving his bloody thumbprints on the formation of some of the most famous franchises in cinema history… even if he didn’t actually direct any of them.

If one were to do even a cursory perusal of those corners of the internet that care about such things, one would find ample discussion of Argento and Fulci but relatively little about Bava.
