7 de may. de 2024 · There were close ties between the Theory Department and the famous physicist Marshall Rosenbluth when he was at the Institute for Advanced Study from 1967 to 1982. Rosenbluth worked with many young scientists on plasma theory, including Jim Van Dam, who later became head of Fusion Energy Sciences at the DOE.
6 de may. de 2024 · The Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award was established by APS in 1985 (originally as the Simon Ramo Award) and subsequently has been endowed by General Atomics in honor of the famous plasma physicist Marshall Rosenbluth.
14 de may. de 2024 · In 1953, with Nicholas Metropolis, Arianna Rosenbluth, Marshall Rosenbluth, and Augusta Teller, Teller co-authored a paper that is a standard starting point for the applications of the Monte Carlo method to statistical mechanics and the Markov chain Monte Carlo literature in Bayesian statistics.
