Maarten (Martin) Schenck van Nydeggen, (1540?, – 11 August 1589) was a noted military commander in the Netherlands. He first served with William of Orange in the fight for Dutch independence from Spain then switched to serve with distinction in the Spanish army.

Maarten Schenk van Nydeggen ( Goch, 1540 - Nijmegen, 10 augustus 1589 ), achternaam ook gespeld als Nideggen of Nijdeggen, heer van Afferden en Bleijenbeek, was een veldheer die tot 1578 in Staatse dienst was, en daarna bevelhebber werd in Spaanse dienst.
28 de abr. de 2022 · He was also known as Martin Peterse Schenck van Nydeck. The Van Nydeck is Dutch and Von Nydeggen is German. The castle they came from is now in Germany though in the late 1500's it was in Holland. He died in 1650 at sea during the voyage to America from all sources.
