9 de oct. de 2023 · The beautiful, historic building that houses the Schoharie Free Library is the former Miers house, a Second Empire Victorian built in 1866. It was donated by the family of Mary Beatrice Cushing, and dedicated in her memory on Oct. 13, 1963.
In 1963, the weight of the books was damaging the DAR Hall and a fund drive to buy a new home for the Library was begun by the Schoharie Kiwanis Club, the Schoharie Rotary Club and others. Mr. James Cushing donated the money to buy the Miers house and the Library was called the Mary Beatrice Cushing Memorial Library in honor of his deceased wife.

Every year the club holds a Flower Show that challenges our members' creativity, and provides an opportunity to improve and showcase our floral design skills. It is generally held at the Mary Beatrice Cushing Library on Bridge Street in Schoharie.
