5 de jul. de 2019 · This is the resting place of Alice Spencer Stanley Egerton, dowager countess of Derby, who died on 26 January 1637. The countess also left her mark a few hundred yards away with almshouses she established in her will, ‘for the relief and maintenance of six poor women of the said parish to reside’. 2
Charlotte Stanley, Countess of Derby (1599–1664), born Charlotte de La Trémoille, is famous for her robust defence of Lathom House during the English Civil War. Charlotte was the daughter of the French nobleman Claude de La Trémoille, Duke of Thouars, and his wife Charlotte Brabantina of Nassau. Personal life. She was born in Alderley, Cheshire, the second of five children to Edward Stanley, later to be the Bishop of Norwich, and sister of Arthur Penrhyn Stanley, Dean of Westminster and Owen Stanley, the naval explorer. She was also a close friend of Sidney Herbert, and his wife. She was an ardent Puseyite.

Dorothea Helena van den Kerchhove was the daughter of Jan van der Kerchhove, Lord of Henvliet and Catherine Wotton, Countess of Chesterfield.1 She married Charles Stanley, 8th Earl of Derby, son of James Stanley, 7th Earl of Derby and Charlotte de la Trémoille, in 1650.1 She died on 6 April 1673.1
Margaret Stanley, Countess of Derby, née Clifford (1540- 28 September 1596) was the only surviving daughter of Henry Clifford, 2nd Earl of Cumberland and Lady Eleanor Brandon. Her maternal grandparents were Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk and Mary Tudor, former queen consort of France.
