Sir Matthew Clive Pinsent, CBE (/ ˈ p ɪ n s ə n t /; born 10 October 1970) is an English rower and broadcaster. During his rowing career, he won 10 world championship gold medals and four consecutive Olympic gold medals. Since retiring, he has worked as a sports broadcaster for the BBC.

Matthew Pinsent graduated from St. Catherine’s College at Oxford, where he captained the Oxford Rowing Club and led the Oxford eight to victories in 1990 and 1991 over Cambridge.
His record of four Olympic rowing gold medals is surpassed only by Redgrave and Elisabeta Lipa-Oleniuc, both with five. Pinsent also claims 14 championships at the Henley Royal Regatta, all in the coxless pairs or fours, failing to win since 1990 only in 1992.
BIOGRAPHY. On Saturday 21st August 2004 at the Athens Olympic Games, Matthew Pinsent CBE entered Olympic history. In one of the classic sporting moments of all time, he led the Great Britain coxless four to victory over the Canadian World Champions by only eight one hundredths of a second.
