She appeared in over 30 films, as well as performing on Broadway. Tragically she also suffered from alcoholism, the effects of which, she ultimately succumbed to, in 1951.
A hard-boiled blonde both onscreen and off, Methot snarled her way through supporting parts in such films as Corsair (1931), Jimmy the Gent (1933), Dr. Socrates (1933), Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936), and, best of all, Marked Woman (1937). Upon marrying Bogart in 1936, Methot began cutting down on her movie appearances.
