Michael Maestlin (Göppingen en Wurtemberg, 30 de septiembre de 1550 - Tubinga, 20 de octubre de 1631), llamado también Mästlin, Möstlin o Moestlin, fue un astrónomo y matemático alemán, conocido por haber sido mentor de Johannes Kepler.

Michael Maestlin (also Mästlin, Möstlin, or Moestlin) (30 September 1550 – 26 October 1631) was a German astronomer and mathematician, known for being the mentor of Johannes Kepler. He was a student of Philipp Apian and was known as the teacher who most influenced Kepler.

Vida y Biografía de Michael Mästlin. (Göppingen, Württemberg, 1550-Tubinga, 1631) Astrónomo y matemático alemán. Enseñó matemáticas en Heidelberg y en Tubinga. Su defensa de las ideas de Copérnico llevó a Kepler, de quien fue profesor, a transformarse en partidario de la teoría copernicana.
Llega a la Universidad de Tübingen y ahí tiene al gran maestro Michael Maestlin, quien le enseña el sistema heliocéntrico, de Nicolás Copérnico, lo que fue para Kepler una auténtica epifanía.
