Mott is the sixth studio album by British rock band Mott the Hoople. It peaked at No. 7 in the UK Albums Chart. It is the last album to feature guitarist Mick Ralphs, and the first without organist Verden Allen; because of Allen's departure, most organ and other keyboard parts are played by Ralphs.

Mott climbed into the Top 10 of the UK Albums Chart, and became the band's best-seller to date in the US. It yielded two UK hits, " Honaloochie Boogie " and " All the Way from Memphis ", [4] both featuring Andy Mackay of Roxy Music on saxophone.

16 de sept. de 2008 · The songs featured Jarvis Cocker, Thom Yorke and others singing with Mackay on saxophone. So while not a guitarist, singer, drummer, or other traditional music hero, Andy Mackay is by any measure, an absolute icon of rock. He modernized the saxophone. That literally is all that needs to be said.
A slight step down from All the Young Dudes, but a consistently excellent release that's essential listening for every glam rock fan. Mott was the final record to feature Mott the Hoople's classic lineup, being recorded just prior to Mick Ralphs' departure for Bad Company.
