And today, almost 25 years (a generation) later, 231 years after it was originally composed, I am writing about it to you, my dear reader, as if it was composed just yesterday.

  4. 1 de abr. de 2024 · The lovely A major concerto (no. 23) is also played too sweetly to be as characterful as it can be. I love the feeling with this work, at least in Perahia’s hands that, although the final movement contains some Mozartian jollity, the sublime slow movement has injected a sense of unease (as well as rapt beauty) which even the final movement cannot – and IMHO – should not - dispel.
