5 de abr. de 2024 · This is what is amazing about classical music. Mozart wrote this concerto in 1786. My father (and then I) heard it in 1993, 207 years (eight generations) later. And today, almost 25 years (a generation) later, 231 years after it was originally composed, I am writing about it to you, my dear reader, as if it was composed just yesterday.

Rubinstein began study at the age of three and at the age of eight studied at the Warsaw Conservatory.

1 de abr. de 2024 · The lovely A major concerto (no. 23) is also played too sweetly to be as characterful as it can be. I love the feeling with this work, at least in Perahia’s hands that, although the final movement contains some Mozartian jollity, the sublime slow movement has injected a sense of unease (as well as rapt beauty) which even the final movement cannot – and IMHO – should not - dispel.
