Qantas has apologised to a Brisbane man after failing to issue him a refund following his cancer diagnosis and urgent treatment because it allegedly did not fall under “compassionate reasons”. Neil Ross was diagnosed with face cancer which required urgent treatment.

Last year, he decided to book a holiday to Cairns with his wife for a couple of weeks, but to his shock, two weeks later, he was diagnosed with cancer.
