Welcome to the Church High Heritage Site. The red-brick building on Tankerville Terrace, known since 1925 as ‘Church High’, has the distinction of being the first purpose-built Girls’ School in Jesmond.
Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School (also known locally as "Church High") was a private day school for girls in Jesmond, less than a mile north of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Until 2014 it was the oldest continuously operating girls' school established in the city.

27 de ene. de 2018 · Newcastle High School is only briefly mentioned by Ms. Bell, hardly surprising as the School took steps to Decentralize from London as early as 1909 before becoming a self-governing Independent Church School in 1925, when ‘Church’ was added to the school’s name. We then became The Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School.
From 1889 to 2014 Tankerville Terrace was home to the girls of Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School and, while the pupils and staff that defined the school have left, the Church High School spirit very much lives on in its red bricks, albeit under a slightly different name.
