4 de sept. de 2022 · In 1866, a young Theodor Herzl enrolled in a Pest Jewish Community primary school, the Pester Israelitische Normalhauptschule. Four years later, he moved to Pest’s Technical School, the Realschule, remaining for the next five years.

In 1813 Franz left ‘Stadtkonvikt’ and went home after which he joined the ‘Normalhauptschule’ to obtain training as a teacher. During his educational days he was befriended by a 20-year-old law student named Joseph Spaun who formed an orchestra made up of his fellow students.

He was an asst. teacher (1810–16) and a teacher (1816–24) at the Alsergrund orphanage, then headmaster (1824–51) and director (1851–59) of the Normalhauptschule. He was devoted to his brother and took charge of his MSS after his death.
