Norman is a grumpy old man who is estranged from his daughter Chelsea. He and his wife agree to care for Billy, Chelsea’s new boyfriend’s son, at Golden Pond, and a most unlikely friendship blossoms.
On Golden Pond was written by Ernest Thompson, who adapted his own 1979 play of the same name to Oscar-winning effect – he even has a cameo in the film as speedboat driver.
