26 de abr. de 2024 · Artemisia Gentileschi nació en Roma el 8 de julio de 1593, hija única del pintor Orazio Gentileschi (1563-1639). Comenzó su formación artística con su padre en 1608 y en 1611 fue violada por un pintor colaborador de su padre. Luego de ese trágico suceso, dejó Roma para ir a Florencia, donde vivió de 1612 hasta 1620.
