Obituary from Washington Post: Orme Wilson Jr., 70, a retired Foreign Service officer and president of the Virginia Thoroughbred Association, died of a heart attack March 30 at his farm at White Post, Va. Mr. Wilson was born in New York City and grew up in a Foreign Service family in Washington and elsewhere. He graduated from Harvard.
The Wilson's son, Orme Wilson Jr., lived down the street at 11 East 64th Street. Carrie died on September 13, 1948, at the age of 87. Three months later, on December 12, the New York Times reported that "The big town house of the late Mrs. Orme Wilson at 3 East 64th Street has been purchased by the Government of India as headquarters for its diplomatic representatives in New York."

Together, Orme and Carrie had two sons: Marshall Orme Wilson Jr. (1885–1966), who was appointed U.S. Ambassador to Haiti by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1944. Richard Thornton Wilson III (1886–1977), who married Harriet Appleton Post (1894–1969), a granddaughter of George B. Post, in 1923.
