Frank Baum's 1900 children's fantasy novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, it was primarily directed by Victor Fleming, who left production to take over the troubled Gone with the Wind.

If you like Oz, it’s a good watch. But it’s not the same canon as Wicked at all Edit to add: the movie does get a lot of hate online, which to some extent, sure yeah it’s valid.
Beyond that, I'd say it's more up to the individual. I'd personally like to throw in the Syfy "Tin Man" miniseries, and "Oz the Great and Powerful" (which I feel more-or-less works well as a prequel to the books and the MGM movie in the same style as them - something which Wicked certainly does not do)
