3.55. Photo by Hubert. The Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin comprise an eclectic ensemble of architectural and landscaping masterpieces. Potsdam was the residence of the Prussian kings until 1918; its majestic buildings were built mainly during the reign of Frederick II the Great (1740-1786) and according to designs of Peter Joseph Lenné.
A one of a kind magnificent cultural hub – Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1990. Encompassing a whopping 2064 hectares, this eclectic landscape and architectural collective begins from Potsdam and extends up to the district of Berlin – Zehlendorf.
Here, take bus 614 or 650 to Bornstädter Straße. After a 5-minute walk, you will reach Sanssouci Palace. By car: Take the A115 out of town to the Potsdam-Babelsberg interchange and continue in the direction of Potsdam city center. 19 de oct. de 2023 · To get to Sanssouci Palace, catch the train to Potsdam and then take the bus number 695 to the site, which takes about 20 minutes. Are there tours of Potsdam? Yes, there are lots of tours of Potsdam. Most of them cover just the grounds and the city, not the inside of the palaces, though. I would recommend this group tour that leaves from Berlin.
