Paul Simon. Paul Frederic Simon (* 13. Oktober 1941 in Newark, New Jersey [1]) ist ein US-amerikanischer Musiker und Songwriter. Zusammen mit Art Garfunkel bildete er ab 1957 das Duo Simon & Garfunkel, für das Simon praktisch alle Songs schrieb. Der kommerzielle Durchbruch gelang ihnen 1965 mit dem Lied The Sound of Silence .
