Paul David Tonko (/ ˈ t ɒ ŋ k oʊ / TONK-oh; born June 18, 1949) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for New York's 20th congressional district since 2013. He represented the 21st congressional district from 2009 to 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Tonko has been called a staunch progressive.
Congressman Paul Tonko represents New York’s 20th Congressional District, including the communities of Albany, Schenectady, Troy, and Saratoga Springs. He represents all of Albany, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties and parts of Rensselaer County.
