Percy Jones (born 3 December 1947) is a Welsh bass guitarist known as a member of the jazz fusion ensemble Brand X, from 1974-1980, and 1992-1999. Jones, who was born near Llandrindod Wells, has also done extensive work as a session musician, and has been active with other groups.
After Brand X disbanded in the 1980s, Percy Jones became a session player in Manhattan, and saw the end of the great club era: CBGB and OMFUG’s, Max’s Kansas City, and The Bowery.

A native of Wales, Mr. Jones began his career as a notable bass player with the bands Liverpool Scene and Scaffold in the U.K.
Brand X co-founder Percy Jones. In 1974, rehearsals began for developing a five-piece instrumental jazz fusion group at Island Studios in London, which was set to include Percy Jones on bass and Phil Collins of Genesis on drums.
