Pierre Gassend, connu surtout sous le nom de Pierre Gassendi [1], né à Champtercier (près de Digne-les-Bains) le 22 janvier 1592 et mort à Paris le 24 octobre 1655, est un mathématicien, philosophe, théologien et astronome français.
