Prince Nikita Alexandrovich married a childhood friend: Countess Maria Vorontsova-Dashkova (13 February 1903 in Tsarskoye Selo, Russia – 15 June 1997 in Cannes, France) in Paris, France. Well known by White Russians in exile for her elegance and grace, the Princess was a daughter of Count Hilarion Vorontsov Illarionovich - Dashkov and his first wife, Irina, born Naryshkina.
In the late 1920s, Grand Duke Dmitri became involved with his cousin, Prince Dmitri Alexandrovich Romanoff in the monarchist youth organizations which sprang up in the years between the wars. By 1923, the largest of these was the Union of Young Russians which was renamed the Union of Mladorossi (Cоюз Младороссов) by 1925.
When Nikita Alexandrovitch Romanov was born on 4 January 1900, in Saint Petersburg, Russian Empire, his father, Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich Romanov, was 33 and his mother, Grand Duchess Xenia Aleksandrovna Romanova of Russia, was 24. He married Countess Maria Vorontsova-Dashkova on 19 February 1922, in Paris, Île-de-France, France.
