Princess Therese of Saxe-Altenburg (21 December 1836 – 9 November 1914) was a Princess of Saxe-Altenburg by birth and a Princess of Sweden and Norway as the wife of Prince August, Duke of Dalarna. She was known in Sweden as Teresia.
'Princess Therese of Saxe-Altenburg ('Therese Amalie Karoline Josephine Antoinette; 21 December 1836 – 9 November 1914) was a Princess of Saxe-Altenburg by birth and a Princess of Swedish duchess and princess as the spouse of Prince August, Duke of Dalarna.
Biography. Therese was a daughter of Frederick, Duke of Saxe-Altenburg, and Duchess Charlotte Georgine of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, eldest daughter of Charles II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. In 1809, she was on the list of possible brides for Napoleon, but on 12 October 1810 married the Bavarian crown prince Ludwig.

The future King Ludwig I of Bavaria married Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen on 12 October 1810 and the citizens of Munich were invited to attend the festivities on the field in front of the city gates. The wedding took place on the name day of the Bavarian King Maximilian I.

Fue la tercera de las hijas del matrimonio formado por José, hijo del entonces duque reinante de Sajonia-Hildburghausen, y la duquesa Amelia de Wurtemberg.
