About 84% of the land area belongs to just one country—Papua New Guinea (PNG)—which, together with Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and Fiji, account for 98% of the PICTs’ land mass and 88% of the population in 2020 (Pacific Data Hub 2022 ).
