The Purcell School is a co-educational boarding and day school for young musicians aged 10 to 18, and Britain's oldest school for young musicians. Entry to the School is based upon musical ability and potential, not upon background or ability to pay, thanks to the Government’s Music and Dance Scheme and the School’s own Bursaries.

Students at The Purcell School are characteristically motivated both musically and academically. The key to the success of our curriculum is balance. Depending on a student’s age and instrumental commitments, between 25% and 50% of curricular time is spent on musical activities.
The Purcell School is a lively, vibrant and energetic community of young musicians who are united by a common passion for music and driven by a collective ambition to become the finest version of themselves possible.
