He played a pivotal role in the Tamil film industry’s growth, leaving an indelible impact through his performances. His association with legendary actor Kamal Haasan in films like “ Michael Madana Kama Rajan,” “Vikram,” “Sathya,” and “Anbe Sivam” is etched in the annals of Tamil cinema history.
Sixty-six-year-old R S Shivaji, who played the role of constable Sambandam in the 1989 Kamal Hassan starrer, died here at his residence in RA Puram after a cardiac arrest. The comic sequences ending with the one-liner 'Saar neenga engayo poitenga' from 'Apoorva Sagodharargal' which ran on TV and social media platforms on Saturday were apt for the occasion.
