Moiseiwitsch recorded his friend’s Rhapsody twice, the first time in 1938 with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Basil Cameron. It was issued in the UK on HMV’s cheaper plum label. The Naxos transfer made from quieter RCA Victor pressings from the late 1930s is quite remarkably vivid.
