ABERCROMBY, Sir Ralph. Luigi Bulferretti. Nato nel 1803, era nipote, per parte del padre James primo barone di Dunfermline e speaker della Camera dei Comuni, dell' omonimo generale, genero di lord Minto e cognato di lady John Russell. Entrò giovanissimo nella diplomazia.
Ralph Abercromby, 1734-1801. In the autumn of 1795 he was appointed to command a new expedition being sent to the West Indies. He was given 15,000 men and the support of a naval squadron, and orders to capture parts of the French and Spanish empires in the islands. He arrived in the West Indies in April 1796.

George Ralph Campbell Abercromby, 3rd Baron Abercromby (30 May 1800 – 25 June 1852) was a Scottish soldier, politician and peer. The son of George Abercromby, 2nd Baron Abercromby and Montague Dundas, on his death in 1852 he was succeeded in the barony by his eldest son.

Ralph Abercromby was born on 7 October 1734 at Menstrie Castle, Clackmannanshire. He was the second (but eldest surviving) son of George Abercromby (1705-1800), a lawyer and descendant of the Abercromby family of Birkenbog, Aberdeenshire and Mary Dundas (died 1767), daughter of Ralph Dundas of Manour, Perthshire .
Ralph Abercromby (Menstrie, 7 ottobre 1734 – Alessandria d'Egitto, 28 marzo 1801) è stato un generale inglese. Egli assurse al rango di tenente-generale nel British Army , e divenne noto per il suo servizio durante le guerre napoleoniche , e prestò servizio come comandante in capo per l'Irlanda.
