Hace 3 días · After Germany's defeat, the Treaty of Versailles limited the Reichswehr to a maximum of 100,000 men, which prevented the deployment of mass armies. The German General Staff was abolished by the treaty but continued covertly as the Truppenamt (Troop Office) and was disguised as an administrative body.
Hace 1 día · The Heer as the German army and part of the Wehrmacht inherited its uniforms and rank structure from the Reichsheer of the Weimar Republic (1921–1935). There were few alterations and adjustments made as the army grew from a limited peacetime defense force of 100,000 men to a war-fighting force of several million men.

Seeckt entered the German Army in 1885.

Model entered the German army in 1909, held various regimental and staff posts during World War I, and transferred to Germany’s postwar armed forces, the Reichswehr, in 1919.

Ernst Röhm (1887–1934) war ehemaliger Reichswehroffizier und NSDAP-Mitglied seit 1920, er hatte Hitler im Hitler-Ludendorff-Putsch unterstützt und zählte zu dessen engsten Freunden. Er wurde von Hitler mit der Führung der Sturmabteilung (SA) der NSDAP beauftragt, die ursprünglich lediglich als Ordnungsdienst konzipiert war.
