Revolt in the Desert is the only version of Seven Pillars of Wisdom published for the general public in Lawrence’s lifetime. Title and dedication. The title comes from the Book of Proverbs; [3] "Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars" ( Proverbs 9:1) ( King James Version ).
