Richard Darryl Zanuck was an American movie producer. He won an Academy Award for Best Picture in 1989 for his work in Driving Miss Daisy. He has also won the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, and a Hollywood Film Award. Zanuck and David Brown were one of the most successful movie producers in Hollywood in the 1960s and in the 1970s.
Zanuck was born in Wahoo, Nebraska on September 5, 1902 to Louise (née Torpin) and Frank Zanuck. [1] Zanuck was married to Virginia Fox from 1924 until they separated in 1956.
