Richard Talbot, 1st Earl of Tyrconnell, PC ( c. 1630 – 14 August 1691) was an Irish politician, courtier and soldier. Talbot's early career was spent as a cavalryman in the Irish Confederate Wars.

Talbot, Richard (1630–91), earl and duke of Tyrconnell, army officer and lord deputy of Ireland, was the eighth son among eight sons and eight daughters of Sir William Talbot (qv), lawyer and politician, of Carton, Co. Kildare, and his wife Alison, daughter of John Netterville of Castletown, Co. Kildare.
