Robertson died surrounded by family in Los Angeles “after a long illness,” publicist Ray Costa said in a statement.

History. Joseph "Robbie" Robertson lived his childhood in Harlem, New York. An avid reporter, Robbie had become the editor of his high school's newspaper by his senior year. In spring of his final year, Robbie had been working on an exposé on his classmate Lonnie Lincoln, who extorted other kids for money and was known as "Tombstone."
